Pallets to the finish! Our crew competed in the first edition of the event 'Rafting on anything'
Last Saturday we had the pleasure of participating in the first Oswiecim Rafting on a Byle Nothing “. The event attracted many spectators who came to cheer on the teams and experience a good time on the boulevards of the Soła River. Our crew, under the name “Pallets to the finish!”, presented transport pallets in a rather unusual configuration.
Creative float from our pallets
For the float, our team designed a float whose main building blocks were BosPal transport pallets. We used different models for construction: 1200 × 800 mm, 800 × 600 mm and 600 × 400 mm. To achieve adequate buoyancy, we used empty plastic 20-liter cans. They worked perfectly as load-bearing elements, allowing us to keep two crew members afloat .
The design stood out for its durability and functionality. Our pressed wood pallets, proved to be not only lightweight, but also extremely durable. In addition, all of the materials used were recycled and/or further recyclable, which meant that no waste remained after the float was dismantled. The raft, characterized as a beaver feeding ground, aroused interest among participants and observers.
